With Grand Theft Auto 6 confirmed to be in development and on the horizon (with rumors suggesting a GTA 6 release date between April 2023 and March 2024), fans have been speculating on which aspects Rockstar should carry over to the next title, and ways in which the immersion in GTA 5 could have been improved on. With the fifth title in the series remarkably nearly reaching its ten-year anniversary, it is impressive how well the title holds up today thanks to occasional quality-of-life improvements and updates throughout the game's life span. The rerelease of the title in late 2014 for the (at the time) new console generation, was well received but introduced a feature that did not quite stick the landing and felt like it failed to live up to the high standards its immersive open world and exploration had initially set.
