New images from Beauty and the Beast: A 30th Celebration show off the lavish sets and costumes that the production uses to bring the classic story to life. The original Disney animated classic Beauty and the Beast premiered in theaters in 1991, adapting the classic French fairy tale by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Villeneuve into a full scale musical with songs by dynamic duo Howard Ashman and Alan Menken. To celebrate the film's 30th anniversary, ABC is airing a recording of a star-studded live production of the musical, blending live-action and animated elements.
